In fact, with the faded “pearloid buttons” (as called by Gibson) almost a mossy green, it’s really complements the color of the SG with its weathered burgandy look. Upon first inspection, this is a fine looking tuner. on these machine tuners are around $89.99, but you can find them at Musician’s Friend or my personal favorite (pronounced “Zounds”) in the $50 range and up. Granted that they don’t always manufacture everything on their own instruments, but you can at least count on the fact that whoever they outsource parts to will provide quality parts. That may not have been much help to you for painting an SG but an SG is mahogany and so is the back of those LPs.Ordinarily, Gibson replacement parts are excellent. Without it, one must apply numerous layers of paint resulting in poor curing of the finish and an excessive amount of labor. One purpose of it is to efficiently achieve a mirror like finish on the wood. It is rubbed on and then wiped away to fill microscopic pores. For guitars made prior to 1977 use the extended search function. Regular type of pore filler is supposed to be somewhat brown ually between natural and walnut.so this vivid colored pore filler must have been custom made. What is most important here is the presence of unique pore filler for the cherry-red finish. Gibson's cherry-red was designed to complement this natural beauty of the wood.
